Project-User Experience Designer II

Be part of an exciting and growing internal user experience team that primarily focuses on building and redesigning internal ESPN business applications. You will work alongside other UX designers who are embedded in a wide variety of projects and teams across enterprise software engineering. You may be embedded in several agile development teams running in parallel, working closely with the product owners, business analysts and software developers.

Responsibilities
- Create Visual Designs and Specs
- Create Sketches & Wireframes (Interactive Prototypes a plus)
- Contribute to Design/Whiteboard Sessions
- Conduct user research and testing to validate user-centered design decisions
- Adhere to branding guidelines and style guide, while contributing to the existing style guide
- Perform audits on your designs once they are built
Focus
- 100% Internal Facing Business Software (98% Website Applications, 2% Other)
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience working as a User Experience Designer, Visual Designer, Interaction Designer, (or closely related field) in the design of websites, web applications, desktop, and/or mobile applications.
- Portfolio of your amazing work at all stages; sketches, visual design, wireframes, usability testing results, personas, style guide, etc.
- Fundamental understanding of user-centered design methods and usability principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong meeting facilitation skills and ability to communicate design rationale.
- Gentle negotiator, enthusiastic team player, and able to resolve conflicts
- Meticulous attentive to details while successfully juggling multiple assignments and competing priorities
- Experience with Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools (Axure a plus).
- Basic understanding of the technical implications of design.
- Knowledgeable of user research methods, including competitive & heuristic analyses, as well as the ability to present findings.
- A great sense of humor
- A hearty thirst and enthusiasm for UX knowledge, trends, sharing and banter
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Communication Design, User Interface Design, Graphic Design or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education
- A Plus: Evidence of continuing coursework/education in Design and User Experience
