QA Test Managers are the experts for managing and leading the project-internal QA team as well as for the day-to-day information flow between the assigned project and external teams while collaborating with the QA Management.
Responsibilities:
- Establishing and maintaining adaptive and efficient QA strategies, processes and workflows for the project, following the QA standards and employing coherent metrics
- Analyzing project documentation to plan and estimate QA efforts, assign/delegate tasks to the test team
- Creating and maintaining testplans based on feature documentation as well as other QA-relevant documents to achieve efficient feature coverage
- QA expert and main contact for the assigned project, solid experience with cross-department work and communication
- Managing and leading the assigned QA team, tracking and maintaining their needs, overseeing and controlling testing efforts
- Constantly mentoring the assigned test team, providing them with QA- and project-related information, training of new staff on the QA team
- Supervising the quality of reported bugs and their further processing
- Attending release and feature planning, responsible for approving / rejecting releases from QA side
- Working closely with the development team and management, evangelist of the project’s quality goals
- Keeping up the information flow and knowledge sharing with other Test Managers, assist QA Management with establishing and maintaining company-wide standards and strategies, addressing issues and risks
- Creating reports about project status and issues for various Stakeholders
Requirements:
- Exceptional attention to detail, thorough and solution-oriented approach of working paired with the ability to think "outside the box", able to identify impediments and provide according solutions in time
- Familiar with game testing practices, conventions and procedures to maintain an adaptive approach to testing
- 2+ years of experience in a QA leadership position
- Fluent in English, excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, Team-worker, experienced in managing and communicating with different Stakeholders
- Proactive and stress-resistant, strong organizational skills combined with the ability to work under constantly changing conditions and tight deadlines
- Enthusiasm for games and the gaming industry
- Understanding of Software Development processes, experienced with Agile project management methods
- Experienced with typical technologies of Browser-/Online-/Mobile games; ideally having managed the QA on a mobile game during development and launch
- Familiar with tracking- and management-tools (especially JIRA and Confluence)
- Familiar with using MS Windows and Office
- Experience with test automation is a bonus
- Prior experience in overseeing in- and outsourced QA
- Experience with the Unity Engine is a plus
- ISTQB Certified Testmanager is a plus
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a games-related field is a plus
