Sr QA Tester (Quality Assurance) at Sorenson Media

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Head of QA, you will play a key role in the execution of our business. You will:

• Work within a small team to find any defects within the software. Determine the scope and significance of the bugs found, report and track them.

• Work closely with engineering and operations to determine acceptable manual and automatic testing procedures for the software prior to release.

• Conduct exploratory testing for the various software developed by Sorenson Media both by itself and combined with other software
• Work within the team to coordinate and conduct black box testing, manual testing, and automated testing.
• Assist with regression testing, beta coordination, and system integration setup and testing as the product prepares for launches.
• Provide mentoring and thought leadership to junior testers on the team and through the company.

• Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience
• Experience testing web applications
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) are a must within this developing company
• Initiative, a self-driven attitude, and attention to detail will all help you succeed
• Having one or more of the following skills is a plus:

• 7-10 years of experience as a QA tester
• Previous experience in an agile environment or familiarity with the agile process
• Experience with exploratory testing
• Scripting, coding, or automation experience
• Experience with performance testing
• Experience with non-functional testing types (security, load, scalability, fail-over, etc.)
